Thus 9,000 metres of 15 denier nylon, used in nylon stockings, weighs 15 g/0.5 oz, and in this case the thickness of thread would be 0.00425 mm/0.0017 in. Washing and Hosiery Care

December 1st 2007

Tights wear much longer, if you properly take care of them. You should hand wash them with soft cleaning liquids and you shouldn't squeeze them hard while washing. Dark colored tights may bleed. Always wash similar colors together. Powders and liquids with defecate effect are not suitable. After giving it a swill, you should wring your tights and lay them down onto soft towel. They shouldn't be dried neither on radiator or any other heater nor in the sun.

Before putting on the tights you should take off rings, bracelets and other jewelry (some women use thin knitted gloves for this purpose). Especially should be careful ladies, who have long nails. You should also keep toenails in perfect condition and regular pedicure is necessary.
